How to Fix language bar on Windows 10?

  1. Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

It is very unusual that there are multiple entries of language packs, even though they are not installed on the PC.

One of the things that you can try is using the lpksetup option to uninstall the additional language packs on the PC.

Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
In Run dialog box, type lpksetup and hit Enter.
    Click on Uninstall display languages.
Select the language packs you want to uninstall and click on Next

If the above method doesn’t list the language packs then follow the methods below.

Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
    Accept the UAC prompts.
Type or copy/paste the following command, and then press Enter: Get-WinUserLanguageList
After typing this command, make note of the “LanguageTag” listed for the language you wish to remove, as you will need it in the next step.
Type or copy/paste each of the following commands, and then press Enter. In the following commands, instead of typing , replace it with the language tag you wish to remove, such as en-us for English (United States).
    $LangList = Get-WinUserLanguageList
    $MarkedLang = $LangList | where LanguageTag -eq “
    $LangList.Remove($MarkedLang)
    Set-WinUserLanguageList $LangList –Force

Let us know how it goes.

  2. Hello Hamidshahi1,

I’m John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I’ll be happy to assist you today.

Please try this if it helps.

    Press Start then search Powershell
Right Click then Run as administrator
Paste the command below then hit Enter:

    $UserLanguage = New-WinUserLanguageList en-GB

After that, Paste the command below then hit Enter:

    Set-WinUserLanguageList $UserLanguage

    Press Y then Exit Powershell
    Restart your computer

After restart, English (United Kingdom) will be the only language under Preferred Languages. Kindly add Persian language again.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Sincerely,
